Using my EME twitter account has had its good days and not
so great days. Some positives about keeping up with this account is that I have
been able to find interesting education articles that I would have never found
or read on my personal twitter. These articles have helped me in my other
education course. Some cons have been that I will forget to tweet, or I won’t
know exactly what to tweet about, so I get behind schedule. It is also kind of awkward
to be tweeting to only three followers as well. Benefits of using twitter are
being able to communicate with others who may live in a completely different
place of the world or finding helpful tweets such as the articles I have
previously mentioned. I haven’t learned anything new with this account because
I knew a lot about twitter before this course began. Again, the difficulties of
twitter are not knowing what to tweet. Twitter can also be very confusing for
first time users as well.
Before our Web Design assignment, I had never created a website,
so this was a new adventure for me. It took me a while to figure out which site
I liked better (between Weebly and Wix) but once I found the one I liked, creating
the website was enjoyable. I really liked being able to start on a blank canvas
with my website and set it up entirely how I wanted to with no template set in
place. I liked how Wix had pictures on their site that you could use to make
your website look more colorful and fun. One thing I didn’t like about creating
the website was figuring out what colors I wanted to use/which colors would
look good together. I thoroughly enjoyed this project! One thing that I could
improve would be again picking a better color scheme but other than that I
think my website looks pretty good! Many skills that I had to use during this
assignment can be used in my future career. I think Wix is a great website
making site and I am looking forward to when I make a class page for real
students one day.
Assistive technology is any sort of technology that helps to
assist in improving the functional capacities of people with a disability.
Adaptive technology is a type of remake of any sort of technology designed to improve
the capabilities of those with disabilities. Each type of technology can help in
a different way. Adaptive tech can help someone who had a disability such as
blindness or hearing loss to complete a task. Assistive tech allows for people with
a disability to gain more independence or complete a task with more ease than they
would without the tool. Personally, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone use
either assistive or adaptive technology before. I think the only challenges
that I would face when using adaptive technology in my classroom would be learning
about and understanding the technology just in case my student needs assistance
if the technology stopped working or something of that nature. I don’t perceive
any other challenges.
