Using my EME twitter account has had its good days and not so great days. Some positives about keeping up with this account is that I have been able to find interesting education articles that I would have never found or read on my personal twitter. These articles have helped me in my other education course. Some cons have been that I will forget to tweet, or I won’t know exactly what to tweet about, so I get behind schedule. It is also kind of awkward to be tweeting to only three followers as well. Benefits of using twitter are being able to communicate with others who may live in a completely different place of the world or finding helpful tweets such as the articles I have previously mentioned. I haven’t learned anything new with this account because I knew a lot about twitter before this course began. Again, the difficulties of twitter are not knowing what to tweet. Twitter can also be very confusing for first time users as well. Before our Web Design assignment, I had never ...

While looking at the classroom page that Ms. Greene (who teaches first grade at FSUS) created, I saw that there were many aspects to her web page. On the right side of the page, there is a column that has links to a welcome page, an “about teacher” page, a weekly news page, a homework page, and two pages that are about curriculum. On the welcome and “about teacher” page, there is information that Ms. Greene has supplied about herself such as where she received her teaching degree from, how long she has been teaching, and her contact information. On the weekly news page there are newsletters for each week of the month. Currently she has newsletters up for the months of August and September and a few weeks of October. Under the homework tab, Ms. Greene has links to different homework assignments and they are all grouped under which month the assignments were to be worked on. On the last two tabs, there is information about what the students will be learning based on the specific 9-week...

ILP "Design"- Kahoot

While observing at FSUS, I noticed that the first-grade students were working a lot on the skill of putting lists of words into alphabetical order. I decided to make a Kahoot that would exercise this skill in a fun and competitive way. Link to the Kahoot: https://play.kahoot.it/#/k/2f0bcf61-8d99-4683-85db-f12d31c73c92

I think Diigo is a very interesting tool that can be used for many things. It is very easy to use, and it is self-explanatory. I really liked how you could share an article to the group, so everyone could see it. I also liked how members of the group could annotate, comment on, or like the article shared. So far, I haven’t found anything that I dislike about Diigo. During my experience with blogging thus far, I have learned quiet a few things. I have obviously had to learn about what I have been writing about in my blogs such as the CPALMS Toolbox, the ELA Standards, etc. so that has expanding my knowledge on educational technology. I have also learned about tools that I think will and will not benefit my classroom once I become a teacher. What I like about blogging is that I get to learn about these tools and software. I also like how I get to write about what my future class would be like and the rules I would have as a teacher (this can especially be seen in our blog journal a...

My EME 2040 twitter is not the first twitter account I have had. While I have been a twitter user since 2014, it has been different running this account since it is not a personal account and I am aiming to use it only to tweet about educational things. This is sort of difficult because it has been hard for me to find good accounts to follow. Tweeting has also been challenging because sometimes I don’t know what to tweet about but as the semester goes on, I am sure I will figure out a plan for my twitter. I have been tweeting back to the EME 2040 class twitter account, but I have mainly been retweeting tweets instead of tweeting people back. I have been retweeting from accounts such as @EducatorsRising, @NEAFoundation, and @TEDTalks. I have found my experiences beneficial because I have been able to find articles on education that could help me in my future career. Twitter itself may not be very beneficial in my future career since I will be teaching elementary education and I don’t ...
